Not your typical boring diet book, this is a tart-tongued, no-holds-barred wake-up call to all women who want to be thin. With such blunt advice as "Soda is liquid Satan" and "You are a total moron if you think the Atkins Diet will make you thin," it's a rallying cry for all savvy women to start eating healthy and looking radiant. Unlike standard diet books, it actually makes the listener laugh out loud with its truthful, smart-mouthed revelations. Behind all the attitude, however, there is solid guidance. Skinny Bitch espouses a healthful lifestyle that promotes whole grains, fruits, and vegetables and encourages women to get excited about feeling "clean and pure and energized."

Vulgar, foul-mouthed authors try to lead the listener into a healthy (vegan) lifestyle. Stop eating junk food, don't use over-the-counter medicines, stay away from beauty products that will soak into your system. Do yoga; check all the ingredients in the food you buy. Stop eating dead carcasses--no meat, fish, dairy. Renée Raudman is one of the best narrators in the business, but even she can't entertain and enlighten the listener amid the continual insulting name-calling. There are "kick-ass recipes for hungry girls who want to stop eating crap (and start looking hot!)." There are no nutrition references, and the list of products to buy is, even with Raudman, a droning bore. There's got to a better road to healthy living. M.T.B. (c) AudioFile 2008, Portland, Maine
